theres a thunder in our hearts baby so much hate for the ones we love TAG: HANNAH OUTFIT: HERE ONE LAST THING: SORRY THIS SUCKS.
The day had been going fairly well so far. Malcolm had done his chores and was now just walking through the barn heading to see his own horse, Charlie. He liked to go see his horse for he always seemed to make him feel better. Charlie always seemed to know when Malcolm was having an 'off' day. Today wasn't any different. The young man had received a phone call from his mother only a little earlier and his mind was on her. Memories still lingered in his own mind of his past that he wished he could get rid of forever. However, it was nice hearing from his mother. She seemed to be doing fairly well for herself and even got a promotion at her work. It put a small smile on Malcolm's lips knowing she had moved on and was making a better life for herself. He only wished he wasn't so far away from her. But he was happy where he was and his job was very rewarding. So he couldn't really complain too much.
Malcolm walked by the many stallions that stood in their stalls, giving each a pat on the neck and a friendly greeting. The horses in the barn were special to him and he treated them as such. When he finally reached Charlie's stallion his smile had grown. The red dun paint stallion always made a smile come to his lips. He stood at the stall door, leaning down with his head on his arms. "Oh Charlie, I miss her." Of course he was speaking about his mother. She also loved his horse. The stallion came over and liped at Mal's hair and then nudged him gently, a soft nickered filling Malcolm's ears. He raised his head and reached out to pat Charlie and play with his mane. The young man then rose back to standing straight and then opened the stallion's stall door and walked in, pulling the door shut behind him. He had brought some grooming tools with him to give Charlie a little TLC.
Standing there, Mal started to run a brush over Charlies body. Hearing a nicker of pleasure from Charlie, Malcolm smiled. "I knew you'd enjoy a little lovin." He chuckled and then continued. When he was done he went up to the stallions neck and wrapped his arms around him. "Glad I at least go you boy." The stallion nickered and snorted, hooved scraped against the stall floor. Malcolm pulled away and then grabbed the bucket and opened the stall door, quickly sliding out and shutting it behind him. He set the bucket down beside the stall and then headed to the trunk across the aisle and sat down. He grabbed the clipboard and began looking through the papers. So much work to do. Where to start.

Now Hannah didn't own a stallion, but she had a few that she worked with to be good mounts for other people. One of them was already ride able, but she was working on training him to move up to the training level in eventing. He certainly was a handful, and he made sure that Hannah knew it. Yesterday she had worked with Storm, and that was nearly a disaster. He was hard to handle, and didn't want to stand still sometimes. The poor horse was so damaged that he found it hard to trust humans, but the owners were sure that Hannah was good for the job. Today, Storm was getting the day off so Hannah could work with Poe.
Poe was a 17hh black Trakehnar stallion, and his owner wanted Hannah to work on him to get him ready for going to Training level in the summer. Poe was a sweet soul, and loved to work. He was a real people pleaser and doing work. Most of the horses that Hannah worked, she sometimes had to fight with to get them to listen. The younger horses mostly, but Poe was about 8, so he wasn't that bad.
Hannah walked to the stallion barn, in riding breeches, an SG polo, and aviators. She had her ipod plugged in, and she was singing along with Bob Marley. She had a wide assortment of music on her iPod, but she was in a cool Marley mood right now. She walked in softly singing, taking off her shades, and walked to the stall that had " Black Raven" on a gold plaque on the front of the stall door. " Hey gorgeous. Did you eat all your breakfast," she smiled and patted his neck.

theres a thunder in our hearts baby so much hate for the ones we love TAG: NAME OUTFIT: HERE ONE LAST THING: NOTES.
Malcolm hadn't realy been out a lot lately and been staying in the barn. Work was his life. His life was his work. Most people that knew him understood that but sometimes would make him go out for a night on the town. He would feel very awkward though sitting in the bar with a soda while all his friends were drinking. Yeah, so maybe he was lame. But he never wanted to sink to his fathers level and was afraid that if alcohol was a factor he would turn into the man that assulted his mother and was sent to jail. Sitting there looking at the paper, he blinked and shook his head. No, he couldn't be thinking about that. Not here. Not now. Not ever. That time was in the past and he needed to stop bringing it up and move on. But that was the hardest part. Moving on.
Sitting their minding his own business working on paperwork, a familiar voice filled the air. Hannah. He could easily pick her out as she came in humming to her music in her own little world. She was probably coming to see some horses she was training. Malolcom didn't know her schedule or anything but knew a couple of the horses had training sessions. He had done his rounds of checking on things and had a few minutes to check on what was next and get a breather. There never seemed to be downtime in the stallion barn. There were always things to do.
She didn't seem to even realize Malcolm was sitting there across the asile just a ways down. A grin came to his face as she walked up to Raven's stall and spoke, "Hey gorgeous. Did you eat all your breakfast?" He saw the smile on her lips and he chuckled. "Maybe one day he will answer you." His tones were calm and smooth. He grinned and then looked back down to his paperwork. Looking down, he spoke agian. "How are you this morning Hannah?" They two had dated, but they both agreed to end it. It left them with a fairly close relationship and Malcolm wouldn't have it any other way. The two were close yet had a friendly competition about things.

Hannah patted Poe's neck and kissed his fuzzy nose. She needed to trim the whiskers a bit, getting a bit long, and she liked her training horses to look trimmed. She rubbed his nose and pulled the earbuds out of her ears, and placed the ipod in her pocket. She had been working with Poe for several months, and he was such a great horse to train. He was a gentle giant, but sometimes he had his moments of wanting to act out and be frisky. She heard a familiar voice and smiled when she looked over and saw Malcolm. Dear, sweet Malcolm. He was such a great guy, it was too bad that they couldn't work out, but they still stayed close friends after their breakup.
She turned to him and looked at him, " You know, he does talk to me. In his own way, but you wouldn't understand his language. You're a guy, you wouldn't understand. It's a girl thing." she said and gave him a little sassy smile. She walked away from Poe and walked over to Malcolm and joined him. "I've been good, Firefly had her babies a few months ago. A colt and a filly, and now I'm getting her back into working shape again, and hopefully show her sometime. I might breed her again, but not any time soon though. What about you? Still working harder than ever to pay your dues," she said and put her hands on her sides.

With show season in full swing, things were pretty crazy around the barns. Stallions were being put up for stud and the commotion around the stables was busy. However, it wasn't as bad in the stallion barn as say the main barn which Malcolm was definitely okay with. He was not a fan of large crowds and being around people while he worked. It was pretty quiet in the stallion barn and he got to spend time with the horses. However, he was low on help around the barn and so he had taken up the tasks of taking care of the horses as well as his manager duties. It didn't bother him though, he liked to work and being around the horses even more didn't really bother him much. Some people may think he was crazy for loving his work so much, but he honestly didn't care.
It was nice to see Hannah. She was a great gal and lots of fun to be around but things just didn't work out with them when they were dating. He didn't like that they broke up but dating just wasn't really an option for him at that moment and her training duties had picked up so they just didn't have time for each other. But thankfully they stayed friends. She was one of the few people he could talk to if he needed to. They understood each other.
"You know, he does talk to me. In his own way, but you wouldn't understand his language. You're a guy, you wouldn't understand. It's a girl thing." She smiled and spoke in her matter of fact voice. Malcolm playfully rolled his eyes and grinned. "If you say so Hannah." He leaned back against the wall of the stalls and closed his eyes for a moment and then looked back over at her as she spoke again. "I've been good, Firefly had her babies a few months ago. A colt and a filly, and now I'm getting her back into working shape again, and hopefully show her sometime. I might breed her again, but not any time soon though. What about you? Still working harder than ever to pay your dues." Malcolm nodded and listened. "Twins huh? Thats great. He paused and then spoke again, voice gentle. "Yeah, just working and keeping the boys here happy. Thinking about putting Charlie up for stud. He is a handsome boy after all. He chuckled lightly. "What about you, how is work going?" He ran a hand through his hair, taking a deep breath and let it out with a soft sigh.

Hannah looked at him and fixed the ponytail in her hair, and she looked down and nervously rubbed the back on her elbow. It had been almost a year since they dated and still there still a small part of her that got weak whenever he would look her way. Those blue eyes, and that smile still got her. She was with someone new now, a really great guy, but you never forget your first love. Malcolm was her first serious boyfriend, and they could have been more, but sadly it did not work out. Hannah and Malcolm were a great team, there wasn't anything they couldn't do together, but they couldn't work out. They ended it on a mutual basis, so there was no yelling or pulling their hair out. Just staying up late, and getting over the heartache of being alone in bed. The other side of the bed being cold, and no arms to hold you close. They still remained best of friends, but part of her missed that boyfriend factor in Malcolm. She hoped that he at least found someone new.
Hannah patted Poe's neck, and when the stallion curved his neck to look towards her pocket, she stroked his face and gave him part of what he was looking for. She needed to get to work and work with Poe. His owner was her best client, and Poe was the third horse that she worked with for them. " Oh that is awesome. I know Charlie will be an awesome stud. Work is good, staying busy with training and helping horses get back to who they once were. I now have my hands full with three horses to compete with. So life has been good for me.I'm... also dating someone new. For a few months actually, and I like him. He's a good guy," she said and bit her lip and went to get her riding gear for Poe.
