F A Q *
Q: How many horses can I have?
A: You may have 5 horses per character. Should you require a large driving team, you need admin permission.
Q: How many characters may I have?
A: There is no limit on how many you can have, but we do suggest you refer to our activity rules before deciding ow many you want ^^
Q: Can my character have animals other than horses?
A: Yes, but we do limit you to 3, regular, domesticated animals beyond your horses. Acceptable animals include: dog, cats, fish, birds and common reptiles.
Q: Can I have a Stallion?
A: Character 18 years and older may have stallions, but keep in mind that uncontrollable, nasty horses will be denied boarding at the center and therefore can not be a character.
Q: Can my character live on the center grounds?
A: If your character is staff at the ranch or a youngster in the foster program, then they are guaranteed a home on the grounds. Those that are not covered above may live on site if there is room for them with the understanding that if the space is needed, they must find other arrangements.. Otherwise, they can live in town and if they are a student at the college, can live in the dorms.
Q; Can my character have a job?
A: Yes, we actually encourage it. Otherwise, how can you pay to upkeep your horses, feed and competition fees? It adds to the realism of the game.
Q: How do I get points and go up the ranks of the top riders/horses?
A: Points are awarded for participating in competitions and lessons. The higher you happen to place, the more points you get. Occasionally, there may be OOC competitions in which pints are given out for prizes.
Q: I'm not in the Top 10 for horse or rider and therefore not in the side bar. How do I see where I place?
There is a thread in The Hall of Books with the complete list. If you have not competed at all, your name will not show up there. If you are tied with someone, you will share the same rank at them.
Q: Can my horse/rider be a champion/gone to the Olympics?
A; No. While you may say that the horse/rider are experienced, all new creations start at the same level, Novice. Through competitions you go higher. For more information on how to become a Champion/Olympian, see this thread.
Q: Where is the Saving Grace Ranch located?
A: SGR is in a fantasy town in Virgina called Harrisbury. As far as we know, it doesn't exist and if it does, it's not the real one. The name of the town was made up by Kendra.
Q: What is the foster program for youngsters?
A: The foster program is a system in which troubled teens ages 10 to 18 are brought to the ranch, often of their own choosing over foster homes, Juvenile Hall or other places. They are given a rehabilitation horse (if their age allows it) or a school horse and must care for them. When you make a foster program character, you are allowed to make the horse as well. Please keep in mind the age restrictions in place on rehab horses in the rulebook.
Q: What season/time of year is it?
A: It is currently Summer of 2012. Seasons change on the lat day of the month.
