Darla was getting anxious and antsy in her stall and wanted to get out. After a hard work out a couple days ago, Logan figured she could use a good run around the dirt track. The filly was such a sweetheart and turning into quite the beautiful horse. But not only that, Darla was turning into a great runner. She was stubborn, but what horse wasn't. But she loved to run. The gate doesn't bother her one bit and pushes off well, exiting the gate like a bullet being shot from a gun. Darla was also a very quick learner and figured out everything very quickly. It helped a lot with training and getting her used to the surfaces. Getting to the track, it was pretty quiet. There didn't seem to be too many people around and from the looks of it, no one else was out on the track. Good, just how he liked it when he was there to ride. Logan wasn't a guy who liked being around crowds. Being in the race was enough for him. However, this would be the first time he would be racing his own horses. In all honestly, Logan was nervous about riding his own horses. Then again, he knew them better than anyone else and what they liked and didn't like. Little miss Darla was not a fan of the whip and shied away most of the time. But that didn't bother him. That was another reason why he was here at the track. He wanted to get all the kinks out before they raced for real, whenever that was to happen. Pushing the big grey filly out onto the track she instantly began to get very excited. Her ears were pricked and there was a light shean of sweat building upon her body. Darla was quite stubborn until she got a little more worked and settled into her surroundings. "Easy girl. We are all alone." Logan reached down and patted the young grey fillies neck. She snorted and continued to prance along the track. Logan began to trot her out and along the fence line. When he felt she was ready, which she began pulling at the reins, he let her into a collected canter as he headed back towards the gate. There was a man waiting to let her in and open the gate when they were ready. Darla walked confidently into the starting gate and stood fairly calm but Logan knew she was ready to go. He gathered his reins with a handful of her mane. Then, without a moments hesitation, she bolted from the gate as the door opened, yanking Logan along with her. The young man was always so amazed at how much power the filly had. So, holding on tight, the pair galloped swiftly along the dirt track. Logan held back on the reins until he thought she was ready to burst forward. He didn't want this to be a hard workout but the filly loved to run and it was always hard to hold her back with the reins. As he rounded the final turn, he decided to let her loose a bit. He let some of the rein out but not all the way and felt the filly almost explode under him. He was amazed at her power and of her stamina. A smile soon creeped upon his lips as he felt her surging forward. Logan grew proud of the filly and when they passed the finish, he pulled up slowly, letting the filly know to slow. It took her a bit but soon she began to slow, enjoying the wind in her face as well. Logan looked around, not sure if anyone saw that but hopefully if they did, they were as amazed as he was at the young but promising filly. words, outfit, notes should all go here, any information you wish to include in your post |
