Hey everyone. Thanks for stopping by. This area is for staff applications. This thread is ALWAYS open, but that does not mean that I am always hiring. I tend to hire when I think that I am short on staff for our member ratio. Think of this like a job application instead of a try-out. Your application is always valid and may be edited by you at any time.

I hire all of my new staff members on as moderators, our basic rung (aside from artists who do not get promoted as there is no room for advancement in that field). Over time, based on your activity and initiative, you may be promoted. Below are our staff ranks.

---

Administrator
Head of the site and all decisions, admins are the head honchos. There is no one above them and their word is law. They are responsible for everything that goes on. It is very rare to be promoted to this rank.


Head Mod
The second in command of the site, Head Mods are in charge whenever the admins are not around. They assist in all large site decisions and have all the capabilities of a Global Mod and some of those of an admin such as editing board headers and footers.


Global Mod
Powerful mods, these staff members are the core of the team and have most functions around the site, as well as a bit of say. They have gone through the trials of being a regular mod and are rather active.


Moderator
The basic staff rank, moderators are functional and complete many tasks such as advertising, accepting bios and rule monitoring. Staff members enter at this rank and must go through a 2 week trial period. In the trial period, they are assigned a mentor of a higher rank to show them the ropes and check their work. After the two weeks are over, they are on free rein.


Artist
Not really the bottom rank, artists report only to the admins. They create the banners and art around the site.

What I'm looking for

I am looking for people that are active, mature and responsible people. You show this through you every day dealings on the site from the chatbox to your posts, and yes, we do notice. If you don't have time to put into SS, not to be mean, but we can't take you. This is not to be mean do to not include anyone, we just need people that are going to take this seriously. I don't expect you to be on here 24/7 hyped on coffee, but I would like to not have to track you down and pull you back here by your ear. I don't like having the talk and would like to avoid it.

Character(s): Dr. Heather Pawelski

Goal: As a mod I always like to promote activity with current members. I will probably create a few more characters and usually have a good five to ten posts going at one time. I reply quickly. If it has been over a week and I haven't replied I'm probably dead or close to it. It has always silently irked me to see members who are supposedly active and have a bajillion characters just sitting in the cbox not doing anything. I suggest leading by example and role playing my own characters as much as possible.

Experience: I've been role playing for several years, but then took a break. I'm just now getting back into it. My posting is ok, always room for improvement and I believe it will improve as I begin to role play more. All of my experience role playing is from the animal side: horses, wolves, and large cats.

My experience with horses is vast. I've been riding for over ten years of my life and have trained to do gymkhana events, versatility/trail events, and cutting. Unfortunately I have not shown much in any of these areas because of limited finances and demeaning instructors. I am currently training my own two year old.

Skills: I'll tell you right now I have no skills what so ever with graphics or coding. None. Besides like the basic make this bold, make this yellow, type coding I'm useless. I have built my own site before though so I understand all the admin buttons and how to change things. Here's the site I created forever ago --> manifestdestinyrpg.proboards.com/ (Note* a friend made the layout...cause again, I fail.) I don't believe I'm a bad judge of character and feel that I'm very fair.

Activity Level:Currently a 10. I feel I'm very active, however need to start rping with other members when the opportuntiy arises. -I finished two threads, like ridiculously happy over that! I don't think I've ever gotten to finish threads before because the other person always leaves...-

Why? I'm usually a very active member. I try my best to be fair. I have no problem doing tons of busy work(like accepting apps, though I must admit I hate advertising. I'll try though.) And because I take on so many posts myself I am a good example for activity level and promote users to have a higher activity level.

Goal: My goal is to always help out as much as I can. When I join a site I like to get into it as much as I can and I always feel like being a staff really helps me with that. I love to help out other members and just do anything I am asked of. I am a really helpful person and would just love to be a member of staff so I can keep my helpful ways going ;D

Experience:
I've been a moderate on Valoria for nearly a year now, will be in March, and I've been an admin on another little site. I have experience with mostly updating things although I know how to use proboards really well, I've tried starting my own sites on it before ;D

Skills:
Nothing when it comes to graphics or coding XD, but I am really good at communicating with others and am well liked on other sites. Like I said before, I know a lot about proboards, (:

Activity Level:
I plan to get online at least once a day, I'm really excited about this site so I should be posting toooons

Why?
I think I'd be a great addition to the team cause I'm really efficient and competent. I put all staff duties before posting and I really love to be the person that people come to to ask questions. And I'm going to be TOTALLY active (:

[KOL NATHANIAL CARTER]

Goal: I'd just like to help around the site in anyway possible, and gain experience.

Experience: I have very little experience as staff, but I've been roleplaying for about five years now. I've roleplayed on various sites with various genres, ranging from strict realism to semi-realistic to fantasy, though this is my first time with human characters. I'd like to say I'm Intermediate when it comes to posting length and word choice.

As for horses, my mom has had one for 3 years, and I've been visiting him as much as possible. A year before we got him, I also started going to a horse camp each summer, because I really wanted to be around horses and learn about them.

Skills: I'm a little rusty with coding, I took a course on HTML last year and I remember most of it, but I haven't really used it since. I am also learning traditional and digital art, but a majority of it is self taught. As for helping with new members and the occasional fight, I think I would fair well.

Activity Level: I am very active, about an 8-9, 10 on the weekends. I get on everyday, even if I'm not posting, and during the weekends I will probably be online all night.

Why? I think that I'd be useful on the team, because although I don't have a lot of experience as staff, I learn quickly. I am also very determined, once I put my mind to something I won't give up, no matter how difficult.

Goal: I want to help out where ever needed. The admin seems really busy and not able to do everything ... so I'd like to lend a helping hand.

Experience: I have been admining sites for a few years now and moding as well. I can link you to sites I am admin on right now if need be.

Skills: I can do a lot... I know how to run PB pretty well. I'm not a graphic person but I can do a lot.

Activity Level: I get on at least once or twice a day.

Why? I think i stated above that I really wanted to help and provide the extra hand that the Admin seems to really need.

Other: I'm not going to sit here and fill out a book.. you have my basics and i feel thats really all you need.

Goal: To Promote Activity and Increase Fun

Experience: I was a head mod at a small role play called Alexa when I was 19. It was also a rider/horse rpg, but run on b2g. I can do basic html (tables, simple editing of lists within coding, bold, italics, images, links...). I have been role playing for 7 years, on many different sites, most very literate. In real life, I have worked as a barn worker, a barn manager, and can work with project horses and greenies. I am doing Eventing come spring with my own horse, though I have more experience in Hunter/Jumpers and Dressage.

Skills: Basic html, basic photomanips and digital paintings, responsible, (First Aid, CPR, oh wait... can't use those over the internet!...)

Activity Level: 10 right now, but 5 on Sundays, because I work 12 hours on Sundays.

Why? Because I really like this site and want to see it succeed. I love to help promote activity and keep things fun and interesting. I'm active, and friendly, and talkative, and I'd love to help out!

Other: I have a twin sister on this site (SongDragon and I are twins). I speak French (never know what might come in handy!)

[Jack Cooper]

Goal: To be as helpful as possible, and to make your life easier. I love being a part of the sites I RP on. I'd like to help create an active, inclusive atmosphere where the members (and potential members) feel welcomed and excited to post. In my opinion, there's nothing better than a large community where everyone RP's with everyone. I feel that to maintain activity, you yourself need to be active first.

Experience: I was an admin on a site a long time ago called Ragnarok, back on acornrack. Unfortunately, acornrack went down without warning, and we lost everything we had. I also tried to start my own stable RP, but due to inactive members, it never got anywhere. I've been roleplaying for a bit over 6 years, both horses and humans. I think there's always room for improvement, but I'd like to think my posts are consistent. I always reply within a day (or two if I'm taking exams!), and give my all to my posts and fellow RPers. I am adequate when it comes to coding, and if I don't know how to do something, I'll find a way to figure it out. I've been riding horses for over 13 years, and I can definitely help add to the realism of this site when it comes to foal stats, competitions, creating stock horses, etc. I have competed in cross country, hunter/jumpers, and dressage.

Skills: I am extremely active, friendly, respectful, and impartial. I can do basic to moderate coding, and I have an expansive knowledge of the equine world. I am also experienced as an admin. I am also very willing to advertise on other sites to bring new members to SGR.

Activity Level: Honestly, I live on the internet, haha. Since I'm only taking two classes this semester, I am available almost every moment of the day. (And if I'm not near a computer, I can go on the site on my phone.) I'll most likely be online all night every weekend.

Why? I think I'd be a great addition to the team because I have experience, and I am extremely active. I love to keep things moving, whether that means accepting new characters, updating ranks, settling arguments, advertising on other sites, or just keeping up with my own posts to promote activity.

Other: I'm very hands-on when it comes to being a mod or admin. I think listening to your members is the best way to run a great site and keep members active and excited. Thanks for the opportunity to try out for a staff position!

[Kathryn St Pierre]

Goal: I would love to help out in any way possible, though I suppose my goal would to see more images around the site. The skin looks amazing, but since I'm a bit of an image stalker I would love to help spruce the site of.

As far as RPing, I want to create full fledged lives for my characters. Although, Kat has an issue with the lack of Starbucks on the site. IT'S ALL HER! I told her to take that up with you, but she's too shy so... Haha. I just love RolePlaying and I want to encourage people to write to the best of their abilities, and help make it a fun as well as nice and drama free as possible. <3

Experience: I have run my own site before. Most recently I had a very active site named Illyria, though due to staff issues and a few life problems that came up, I couldn't devote the time to running it that it deserved. Illyria

Before then I was a GM on sites such as The Secret and some of the older sites such as Masquerade and Hells Dominion.

I have experience mostly with proboards from skinning and images, to the general running of a site including enforcing rules, censuses and board design.

Skills: Imaging. My images are mostly simple. but I believe that more sites she would about how simple images could add a bit of something to a site, than complex images just taking over in the header. I know HTML and CODING for skins as well as thread tables.

Activity Level: I'm on every day. I realized on Illyria that I am better suited to be a staff member than I am to being The End All Be All Admin. I get sucked into the sites that I join, and currently this is and will be the only site I'm on, so I have a ton of time to devote to the site. My job is currently on hold due to state funding, so I know for the next two weeks or so I'll be absolutely free. After that I'll be back to working about 30 hours a week, which will still leave me time to devote to the site.

Why? IMAGES! Haha. No, really I just love watching an up and coming site grow and flourish as a beautiful active place to RP. I love to help in any way possible, and I know that every site needs someone ready and dedicated to stepping up, when the need arises.
